We know that DNA & RNA are both hereditary molecules and play a vital role once body functions, they look similar in somehow because of it structure and formations in DNA but their are some changes it structure and functions which you should remember before discussion about RNA & DNA, creating presentations and or in papers. This simple explanation about differences between DNA & RNA is useful for all classes, from high school to college. Earlier, we discussed about similarities between DNA & RNA. 

Differences between RNA & DNA:

DNA:

  • DNA is double stranded molecule. 
  • DNA consist on four nucleotides that includes cytosine thymine adenine and guanine. 
  • DNA is static
  • DNA is stable molecule
  • Their are Hydrogen bonding in DNA
  • DNA is a self-replicating molecule
  • Contains Deoxyribose sugar molecule
  • DNA is used for the synthesis of RNA 

RNA:

  • RNA is single Stranded molecule 
  • Like DNA, RNA consist on four nucleotides that includes cytosine, Uracil adenine and guanine
  • RNA is motile molecule
  • RNA is not a stable molecule
  • NaH2 bonding is present between RNA
  • RNA is made up from DNA, so it is not replicate itself like DNA
  • RNA contains ribose sugar molecule
  • RNA is used for the synthesis of proteins.
